PRESS
Hannah Drakeford Design is a multidisciplinary design studio, renowned for its use of bold colours, geometric shapes, and eco-conscious practices.

"Rooted in the belief that design should be both innovative and personal, I transform ordinary objects and unloved spaces into extraordinary expressions of individuality. From my one-of-a-kind upcycled furniture creations that I share on social media to my colourful bespoke interiors, my work challenges expectations, empowering you to break free from trends and embrace the power of standing out from the crowd, while making sustainability engaging and fun.

My design aesthetic doesn’t fit into a box. It can be described instead through a summary of my influences. Playful elements of the Memphis Milano design movement combine with the striking geometric shapes of Auguste Herbin and graphic sensibilities of the Bauhaus. My style blends vibrant colours, geometric forms, and unexpected textures and the pieces and spaces I design stand out for their joy, personality, and downright uniqueness. I revel in the joy of transforming the everyday and mundane into something truly extraordinary".
Transforming Interior Design and Furniture Upcycling into a space for bold expression
Hannah’s path to becoming a renowned designer reflects the boldness and creativity that define her work. Stepping out of a 21 year career as an award winning retail designer and creative manager to launch Hannah Drakeford Design in 2020, at arguably the hardest time to start a service-led business, Hannah’s tenacity, resilience and out-of-the-box creative thinking has seen her brand evolve from a small-scale, residential-focused interior design studio to a multidisciplinary practice, with 2 homewares collections having been sold through Made.com and other global retailers, several design collaborations with well respected brands in her portfolio and 20+ interior design projects completed for clients across 6 countries.

But Hannah doesn’t just inspire through her bold and vibrant aesthetic, she challenges the way we perceive sustainability in design:

“I believe we need to reframe the way we think about everyday, throwaway furniture. Not everyone has the luxury of being able to afford beautifully crafted, bespoke pieces; so cheaply-made, flat-pack furniture is often the only accessible option. I see the potential in these decidedly average items to be upcycled into extraordinary, show-stopping pieces that stand the test of time, without going out of style”.

And the vibrant interiors Hannah designs for her clients are equally as memorable as her furniture creations; she is the designer for anyone looking to break free from trends and surround themselves with bold, joyful colours.
And Hannah’s determination to do things differently hasn’t gone unnoticed, with her social media follower count approaching 200,000 and an engaged band of loyal subscribers, the number of designers and brands who look to her for inspiration is growing every day. And in 2023, her trailblazing outlook led to her being scouted for BBC1’s Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr, providing a platform to share her colourful designs and DIY know-how with global audiences.
